Winter Warmers

New Look has seriously upped it's game recently! I never used to be a huge fan, but I've recently converted. There's a New Look pretty near to where I work, so as you can imagine my lunch breaks are usually spent seeing what I can add to my wardrobe.

This cape is an absolute favourite of mine. Not only is it perfect for this winter weather, but the autumnal colours fit perfectly into my wardrobe, making it an absolute staple in my day to day outfits. You all probably know by now that I'm a massive fan of faux fur so the fact this cape had a fur trim made me fall even more in love!

I opted for a simple outfit to compliment this cape, with a black roll neck and my joni jeans. I completed the look with my H&M floppy hat, perfect for those days I want an extra ten minutes in bed.

I've spent the day putting up Christmas decorations...keen I know, but it's my first year in my very own house so excitement just got the better of me, I can't wait to share the finished look with you soon! I'm absolutely knackered from all the excitement and I'm about to curl up on the sofa with the boyfriend for the evening.

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!

Simple Stripes

I think as I get older I'm appreciating more simple looks, and realising I don't have to wear the most out there outfit to be considered 'fashionable'. I did wonder if this outfit was a little too plain to be featured on the blog, but actually I really like it!

This striped t-shirt was a bargain from the Urban Outfitter's sale - I could of bought this in every colour if I had the money. I teamed it with my new black Topshop joni jeans - I'm actually really excited about these jeans. I've lived in my old Topshop jeans up until now and as much as I loved the fit, I had to except that they were no longer a lovely shade of black but instead looked like a drab grey. Now I have a new pair I can't believe I didn't invest sooner, the difference a fresh pair of black jeans can do to your wardrobe is crazy.

What's your thoughts on this simple striped outfit?

November Wishlist

Jumper - Topshop / Fedora - ASOS / Coat - River Island / Bag - Selfridges / Skirt - Topshop / Cami Top - Miss Selfridge

I still can’t quite believe that it is November, like seriously it feels like it was February a few weeks ago! This year really has flown by.

I should probably stop lusting over clothes for myself and start Christmas shopping..but there’s always next month for that, right?!?

For me, the winter months are all about embellishment, polo necks, faux fur and dark autumnal colours and this post shows that perfectly.  How dreamy is this River Island faux fur coat? I’m not sure I can justify adding yet another coat to my collection, so this one may have to stay on my wishlist.

What are you lusting over this month?

Cool Kids

This post today is in ode of my new favourite coat!! H&M kids take a bow! I thought my days of shopping in the children's section were long gone, but after a shopping trip to get my little cousin a birthday present I well and truly fell in love with this coat! After trying it on and being completely shocked I could fit in to it, I thought it would be rude not to buy it..and after all it was a bargain £30! H&M kids may slowly become my new favourite shop.

I went for a simple outfit today as this coat speaks for itself. This Topshop jumper is another favourite, it is so simple and doesn't require much effort but the shape and the fit make it look so much more than it is!

Hump Day Happiness

“We’re half way there the weekend is nearly upon us! “.. *ten minutes later* “HOWWWW is it only Wednesday, surely it should at least be Friday by now!!”

Every week without fail I have that mid-week mental block, my motivation slowly dwindles and my mind is filled with thoughts of staying in bed and watching back to back episodes of my guilty pleasure…say yes to the dress, but instead I'm sat at my desk, unenthusiastically replying to emails wondering when it’ll be my turn to win the lottery.

Instead of this miserable mentality that comes over me every week, I have decided I am going to think positive thoughts…. Because positive things happen to positive people and all that.

So, here are my hump day happy thoughts and what I've to go be happy for today;
  1. I straightened my hair and it didn’t rain – it’s like a curse that someone has put over me, up until today whenever I have actually decided to make the effort with my hair it has rained and I end up looking, quite frankly, shit. I may have lost ten minutes in bed but my hair is looking sleek, straight and sassy and the rain is yet to ruin that..YAY.
  2.  I don’t have to cook tonight! Woop woop, that means more time on the sofa and an extra episode of walking dead for me.
  3. I'm wearing my brand now H&M coat for the first time, and it is as warm and snuggly as it looks. I am definitely not disappointed.
  4. My to-do list for the week is rapidly decreasing – ticking things off my list in time for the weekend makes me super happy.
  5. Fresh bedding – I have newly washed bedding ready and waiting for me to get in to tonight. I am counting down the hours till I can put my mini mouse pyjamas on, my frosted vanilla yankee candle and curl up in bed with my boy.

However minor or small it might be there’s always something to be happy for and look forward to! So here’s to being one day closer to the weekend…Happy Hump day lovelies!

Topshop and Tartan

I think I've quite possibly had the most productive of Sundays, tidied the house, cooked, blogged and even did a bit of DIY - yes that's right I am a domestic goddess! Although I am now on the sofa and I don't plan on moving for the foreseeable future.

I love this simple striped Topshop top in today's outfit, I've been living in it with jeans recently for a simple and effortless yet chic look. I mixed it up a bit today and teamed it with my black denim Topshop skirt...which is just the perfect fit and goes with everything! This outfit was either going to have to be worn with tights or knee highs as this weather is making it some what difficult to embrace bare legs, so I thought I'd dress it up ever so slightly and opted for my bargain eBay knee high boots.

I'm a big fan for clashing patterns, so I teamed last years tartan Primark scarf with this outfit to finish it off! Tartan becomes my staple go to print every Autumn - I'm on the look out for a new tartan scarf to add to my collection, if you lovelies have seen any anywhere let me know!

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend! I don't want to rub it in but my weekend is not over yet - I have tomorrow off and am spending the day with my Mum in Brighton where I'm planning on starting my Christmas shopping and resist treating myself! Wish me luck!!

Yet another pinafore...

I'm starting to think I have an obsession with pinafores - 3 posts in the last two weeks have featured one and I'm not going to be hanging them to the back of my closet any time soon. Today's pinafore is a new addition, my spending ban was going so well until I fell in love with this! I feel like this is a good purchase though, and I'll definitely get my moneys worth - it'll look fab with tights and a roll neck as the weather continues to get colder and colder ...I think I'm just trying to justify my spending habits to myself here, but the main point is it looks cute right!?

This Zara top is another favourite of mine, I absolutely love the colours and the print and it looks perfect with this pinafore. The top has some absolutely beautiful button detailing on the back that I'll save for another blog post when it's not covered up.

This Lulu Guinness bag was a 21st birthday present from my parents and it's still an absolute favourite, it's a staple in my wardrobe as it's just so classic and seems to go with so many different looks and I think it finishes today's outfit off perfectly.

There's something about neutral colours that no matter what season I just love wearing them. Don't get me wrong I love wearing bright colours, but I just feel safe in neutral colours, and I love the way different neutral shades compliment each other.

I've based this outfit around my new H&M cream skirt, which these images do not even do justice. I originally bought this outfit for work, but decided it was too pretty to be kept just for the office and that everyone should see it, so it's now worked it's way in my every day outfits. I love the classic shape and the zip details, but my favourite bit about the skirt has to be the asymmetric slit. I teamed it with this nude roll neck from Topshop, which was a bargain £16 - they do it in all sorts of colours, so check them out, they are the perfect addition for your A/W wardrobe!!

Snake Skin Tie

This ASOS shirt arrived today and I love it that much that it is already making an appearance on the blog. I absolutely love the neck tie, I have this shirt and cream as well, but the snake print just makes it that little bit more exciting. I teamed it with my pleather pinafore from H&M which I got about two years ago now. For some reason I wasn't convinced it suited me so it has stayed sat in my wardrobe up until now.

Apologies for the brief post, I'm off to a fancy dress party tonight and I need to get my arse in gear and start getting ready. I hope you're all having a good weekend.

Casual days

Happy hump day guys - we're on the home stretch on the weekend is getting closer. Today's look is all about my new love for trainers. Up until this year spending money on trainers was something that was an absolute alien thought for me, but with such beautiful trainers out there I was quickly won round. I love these monochrome trainers from Nike, perfect for outfits outside of the gym. I've already got my next pair of trainers added to my wishlist for a sneaky pay day purchase or an early christmas present to myself.

I love this Missguided dress, another piece that makes a regular appearance in my wardrobe for both day and night, and an absolute bargain too! To compliment the trainers and keep the look casual I've added this white H&M shirt, I love it with the tie in the middle. Finished off with a few simple accessories this completes my casual day outfit, without making me feel I should be jogging along everywhere.

How do you guys style trainers? I'd love to see your posts!

Denim Pinafore

This denim pinafore is a golden oldie from Primark, I bought it two Summers ago now and I'm definitely glad I did. I've got my eye on a few darker denim pinafores that I think will be perfect to style this winter. Now autumn is here, roll necks are officially out and part of my go to look. This striped number is from Boohoo, and the colours are just perfect. Boohoo is rapidly becoming one of my go to stores when online shopping - on trend pieces at bargain prices.

I decided to brave it and not wear tights with this outfit today, however the cold winter chill is coming in so I'm not too sure how much longer I'll get away with it unfortunately. I've finally worn in these lovely little ASOS boots and can comfortably wear them...big win there!

Topshop Trousers

I used to live in ripped jeans but recently I've converted and I am absolutely loving a smart trouser. These pink Topshop beauties are the most perfect fit, I love that I can wear them smart to work or dress it down for the day..believe it or not these trousers actually look fab with trainers too! What a perfect all round item to add to my wardrobe.

This is a bit of a Topshop heavy outfit with the shoes and top also being from there...but you can't go wrong with a bit of Topshop right?

Trousers, Top, Shoes - Topshop / Bag - Gift

I have a day of sorting the house ahead of me, I have become a bit of DIY princess since I've moved in to my house, so I'll be stripping wall paper and sanding walls today - I might reward myself with a trip to The Range to pick up some house goodies. I hope you're all enjoying your weekend so far!
